On December 10, 2007 Jane Lichtman beat Ruth Dunkle 401 to 379 at the Millburn NJ Scrabble club with the above pictured board. She had 2 bingos of 82 points each- LIQUORS and FURROWS. She had both blanks, the J,X,Q,Z, K and 3 of the 4 S's. Ruth did not challenge Jane's "phoney" play of YIKE.
Jane Lichtman reports, "I never, ever, thought that I would beat Ruth at Scrabble. What she doesn't say is that I had a little bit of help from the Scrabble gurus on my right and left...but I did it all myself! In true Wenonah sportsmanship fashion, Ruth was a gracious second-place finisher. I think that we were both equally surprised at the outcome."
